Sweet Evangeline

Yuli came over for lunch last week and she brought her sweet little one along. It has been at least a year since I last saw her…how fast do they grow! She’s now really interesting to interact with, bobbing along to Okto channel’s songs, giving me shy smiles while leaning on my lap, singing “Jesus loves me, this I know” to me before she left…so sweet!

As usual, Yuli offered lots of wise words and advice and it was comforting to know that she makes time to be here for me, despite being busy with little Evangeline.

I think her little one will grow up to be a wonderful influence to others too, just like her dear Mummy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Dinner with Colleagues

Had a hilarious time with colleagues over delicious home-cooked dinner and large servings of ice-cream few weeks back. It was great chatting, playing silly games and sharing about our desires and dreams..

When deciding on what to share, I had renewed passion for a dream I held onto ever since my Junior College days…which was to have a Home that I could run, where anybody that needed help – whether it was an old lady with health difficulties, a youth running away from home, or a kid loitering on the street – would be able to find care and appropriate help. Sharing it with the others that night made me reflect on God’s journey for me ever since those college days.

Today, though I don’t own a Home that renders help to the needy, I get the opportunity to manage a wonderful centre with lovely staff and needy children and I get to make a positive difference to their lives each and every day. Seeing His plans unfold for me, trusting Him with my future, has really been an amazing experience.

And one of the best moments that night was when I was introduced to a long-time friend of my late grandpa, coincidentally, one of my colleague’s Dad. He asked about my grandpa, fondly shared precious memories of him blessing them with durians all the time, and proudly told me that the clothes he was wearing were tailored by my grandpa – still in good condition. He even numbers all the shirts and pants!

Makes me wonder what memories my grandchildren will linger over in the many years to come.. ๐Ÿ˜›

I love celebrating them, and it’s especially sweet when it’s about celebrating a little one’s special day!

Whenever possible, I try my hardest to remember their birthdays, and each time that I do, their sense of appreciation always warms my heart. Even if it’s just a tiny gift of sweets and a small note-paper greeting. ๐Ÿ™‚

Weekend afternoons

I love the weekends. Lazing around, cleaning the house, having more time to prepare food for Bren, spending time with people close to me, enjoying good food and company…there’s just so much to love.

Lately, I’ve also tried to plan it in such a way that it is more fruitful and I must say that I am very pleased with how my weekends have turned out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Bren and I spent one Saturday having brunch with sis and bro-in-law as well as little Kaelyn @ The Tanglin Treeย and it was really nice catching up and playing with the tiny one!

My Salmon Burger was good and we’d such a relaxing time.

I’d love to go back there again!

We headed to our cousin’s place after that, where parents were also visiting to look at another baby niece. I had a lovely time playing with another cousin’s (!) baby girl, who simply loves to eat!

And over this past weekend, met up with Julia for a nice Saturday of chilling out, catching up and worshipping our awesome Father above. We randomly decided to eat lunch at this pasta place Kevin previously introduced me to, then went over to Kith Cafeย @ Rodyk Street for tea and breakfast (hehe) and later met up with Deni who joined us in Stream Of Praise‘s worship event.

God is good. ๐Ÿ™‚

Bren & Kaelyn

This picture makes me smile.

Kaelyn was very sweet to him that night, cooing and smiling throughout. Such blessed moments…indeed, a child is a gift from God. Little Kaelyn has brought such joy to all of us!

Love receiving pictures and updates on her. Mummy, keep ’em coming! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wild Honey

Met up with gal pals for dinner after work @ Wild Honey few nights back, and all 3 of us wanted the Tunisian breakfast set:

It was really rich and tasty! 2 yolks, yum yum yum. The crunchy salad on the side was pretty good too.

We were not that satisfied with our dessert though, Belgium waffles and ice-cream:

A little too coconut-creamy for our liking, but I polished it off anyways. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was time well-spent being one another’s listening ear and encouraging ourselves in this journey of faith.

Would be nice to bring Bren over and find out which of their all-day breakfast sets he would like.. And speaking of food, I was whisking eggs beside Bren this evening and he asked what I was baking. When I told him, “Brownies.” his face immediately lit up and he said, “O brownies! My favorite!”

It was such a pleasant moment for me, knowing that my husband loves what I’m baking.

Pizzas, anyone?

Had a casual birthday celebration for 2 co-workers few days back, and Dominos did not disappoint.

It’s small things like this that bring us that bit closer to each other. A little thought for a friend, everyone chipping in here and there, and we get a blessed surprise that warms our day.

Can’t wait for another birthday dinner celebration with them in just a few weeks!
