Good service :)

What exactly is it, and how do we even define it..?

I’m such a big fan of good services, especially at restaurants and anxiety-inducing places like clinics/hospitals. It somehow brings a sweet warmth to the heart, and makes the experience that much more memorable.

For the past week, have been reflecting on how we reflect (or not reflect) Christ at work, and it has been an even bigger challenge for me to inspire my team to constantly bring good service day after day…after all, we are serving the less-privileged and every decision that we make should be towards making a difference in their lives.

This was taken when Bren and I were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful service of Tonkichi, a lovely Japanese restaurant we frequent whenever we’ve cravings for nicely-fried pork.

It was served simply because we found a little tooth-pick in one of my pork cutlets. We were not complaining about it, just informed the wait staff on it so they could be aware…and minutes later, out came this tasty dish as apology for the slip-up!

It was really delicious.

At another of our visit, they gave us complimentary coffee desserts when the wait for our main meals took around 20 mins long. We did not complain, so we were seriously impressed that they had such initiative.

Thinking about these makes me realise that what it essentially boils down to, is the heart of our service. Leadership is also an act of service.

A service from the heart, to touch another person’s heart…

Jurong Bird Park

For some reason, I’ve hardly been to Jurong Bird Park. I think I remember going once when I was really little…and mayyyybe with Bren when we first started dating, but never again.

Which is sad, because when we brought the kids there during the school holidays – I really enjoyed it! The whole place is filled with pretty little (and big) birds, and that excursion was incredibly fascinating.

It was quite a hot day, so I was bushed at the end of it all…but they were happy, and I was too.

Our Sabbath @ Port Dickson

22 oct

Waiting for Julia n Deni to arrive at e bus terminal now. A lil hungry, a lil excited, a lil curious at how this weekend will pan out.

God has been really good, being faithful in ensuring we go for this sabbath trip to port Dickson.

Am going to continue looking to Him for His protection, provision n blessings.

Wow finally get to board the bus n head towards malaysia. Had some hiccups n angry people around cos the bus left without a number of us..but thankfully, we’re on our way now

Praise Him in all circumstances! I’m thankful that we got to meet quite a few nice fellow port Dickson-goers too

Will be fun!

Finally here! The whole place looks amazing. Felt relaxed just stepping into it, with all the greenery n happy smiles we see all over.

God is simply so wonderful.

Am reminded of the need to root the next generation in His Word, that our hearts must not choose to harden, but we r to pray for tenderness of heart…Lord, I pray for u to fill me with more n more of yr compassion n love for others…that they can experience Yr love, even through me.

23 oct

What a wonderful night of sleep. Perfect rest in Him, though I woke up a few times in the middle of the night. But no complaints. I woke up happily

Be loved n love! May His seed for me today bear fruit n glorify Him.

Had such a filling breakfast, n meaningful yet fun conversations.

I’m learning a lot from Julia n Deni. Their positivity n earnestness in giving the other person benefit of the doubt…n the willingness to understand complete strangers, is really always inspiring n encouraging.

Thank god for such blessed fellowship. N for such sweet sisters in Christ

On the bus back home now. Can’t quite sleep. Recalling the very blessed weekend filled with happy moments…n thinking bt the people that im going to see back home very soon…

My niece. My husband. My parents. My sibs. My colleagues n friends…

I’m just overflowing with so much love n praise.
