Friends are such blessings…

Have been sharing in the joy of great fellowship these past weeks, and I cannot give thanks enough for such sweet times. When someone connects deeply with you, something special happens, and I treasure such friendship a lot.

Julia and I met up for movie + dinner few weeks back. We watched this Chinese movie “First Time” and it was surprisingly really good and heartwarming! Loved the script and we cried so much, I was very glad we were with each other; Bren wouldn’t have wanted to watch it with me, haha.

Good times!

And I have joyful news to share – volunteer friend Simon has accepted Christ! It was such an anointed meetup/farewell yesterday, and God, in His perfect and absolutely beautiful timing, made it all happen. This journey of sharing Christ with him has been amazing, and it’s such a ministering experience for me too.

We’d an appreciation dinner for Simon and the 2 other volunteer friends last week – at one of my fav. places: “Grandma’s“! Absolutely adore their Cantonese Noodles.

It was their very last day with us yesterday, and so many of the kids cried as their bade their goodbyes. It’s just so hard to not miss them since they’ve become such good friends!

Till we meet again…

Simon got me Jodi Picoult‘s latest! Yay.

Can’t wait for his exams to be over and for him to meet our church friends! Praise God for his wonderful blessings..

Good Food :)

Breakfast on a Saturday:

Image

Brownice ice-cream – dairy-free & vegan! Takes a while longer to melt, but still very yummy.

Bren brought back Krispy Kremes from his trip!

One of my childhood favorites; from volunteer friend Simon as his farewell gift. 🙂

Loved the color, and took a pic. Bren and I have been sipping on warm lemon water every morning, and it’s good detox.

Yesterday’s breakfast; Bren ate ’em all except the celery, haha. Will need to figure out how to entice his palate for that.

And this was lunch today since Bren was feeling under the weather: beetroot, orange & green apple juice + sweet potato soup + millet topped w egg, kale, spinach, chicken and a variety of good seeds – flax, sesame, pumpkin, sunflower… Happy that Bren finished everything!

And happier that he’s feeling much better now. It’s such a joy to bless (and be blessed) with food!

Oh, and Happy Father’s Day to all Daddys. 😀

Special “B” Days

On the very same day, we attended a birthday (at MacDonalds!) as well as my grandma’s baptism! Such a gloriously joyful day, and it makes me smile just thinking about it.

Lots of love, lots of happy sharing, lots of His presence all around…

God has been ever so faithful, and the more I wait on Him, the more I realise how beautiful His work is in us! He alone has done great and awesome things…

Of robots, cakes & “i love u”s

It has been slightly more than 2 weeks since the school hols has started, and there have been ups and downs in our journey of guiding the children in our holiday theme of “Attentiveness”. More ups than downs, I’m trusting it to be. 🙂

Few days ago, this little boy came in and showed me his huge robot. He was so shy but also very proud of his creation. Couldn’t resist taking a pic:

We also celebrated 2 male colleagues’ birthdays by having yummy slices of apple/banana/peach cakes, and it was so nice having our volunteer friend, Simon around to be blessed by the simple joy of remembering the days when God created each of us!

And there was this particular day that the kids were taught how to make origami. It was really interesting and fun, and it was all the more memorable when I received a heart-origami bookmark from a young boy who nervously came up to me and whispered between giggles, “i love u”. So cute!

There are so many moments of frustration that we go through each day as we tackle the issues of the children and their families, but there are also tons of moments whereby I feel so blessed working with the people that I love, and blessed by God’s faithfulness and miracles just by witnessing the growth and transformation of the children..

Onto another wonderful day!
