Words of Hope

I’m such a words person.

When someone tells me something, or writes something to me, the words linger…over and over and……linger a little bit more. I treasure it a lot when someone opens up his/her world to me, even through simple things like cards.

Such a joy to receive, and of cos’ to bless. πŸ™‚

His Truth, His Love

Bren and I visited Mdm Cheong few Sundays ago, after our friends’ church wedding, so I was really happy to be able to pick out some flowers from the ceremony’s deco. – it was such a small gift for her, but she was very delighted!

Bren very courageously helped her with the “container” of at least a week’s worth of “stuff” and at that moment, I was SO proud of him and for his commitment to help. It is very painful to see her struggling, but we’re thankful that He is in her life…and may His truth and love dwell in her every day.

So much to praise God for!

His Wonderful Love

Marriage is a beautiful thing. It brings us to such honesty about ourselves, our brokenness, and our deep need for God to be anchored in our daily lives.

A friend asked me over dinner few nights back if I am happy with Bren, and I still remember my eyes and lips curling up, and me nodding my head, replying her with “yes, more and more every day.” Indeed, our marriage is something I really treasure.

I pray that our recently married friends, Barry & Megan, would also experience the same gift! His gift of a wonderful love for each other, and for Him…

Indeed, God IS love.

Called to Love

Spending time with my loved ones, including my in-laws, is a priority. These were taken during our Father’s Day dinner, with Bren’s cousin from Canada along too!

Always thankful for good times spent. πŸ™‚

Farewells…

Always so hard to say goodbye…especially if it is to people I’ve grown close to over the past months. Bade goodbyes to 2 of our temp. staff few weeks back, and it was teary.

On their last day, Ben was strumming the guitar, playing worship songs for the kids to sing along to. Halfway through my work, my eyes started welling up…and I knew I simply needed to stop work and let myself be ministered by the songs.

Music is such a gift, and I’m so glad to have them bless my life in this way.

They wrote me such sweet cards:

Singing “I Stand In Awe Of You”; specially requested in view of all the wonderful miracles that were happening in the centre!

Botanical Gardens

It’s one of my favorite places to go to, and there’s an extra reason now that David has expanded his Food For Thought business to Botanical Gardens too!

Love the flowers, the plants, the hot and long walks…everything about it!

Chatted with Sam too, and I’m amazed at how time has flown by. They’re doing so well, and these guys are still so friendly and grounded…it’s really sweet.Β Best part was having Bren with me the whole time. πŸ˜‰

Me-time

During a chat with Simon few nights back, he was sharing on how doctors (or med students for that matter) are known for not having very good work-life balance. At least, not in the beginning. What an irony, no?

Which anyway made me reflect and realise how blessed I am, for I can honestly say that I now have quite a good hold on that balance. It is definitely something that one has to learn to manage, but I also do know that many do not have much of a choice.

So it is with such thanksgiving that I reflect upon the little things I’m able to do, with my precious me-time…
