Celebrating Daddy :)

My dearest Daddy is a really, really sweet and humble father. He listens, he gives, he LOVES – and he loves us in such a generous and unconditional way, it makes me so thankful that I’ve an incredibly positive role model. Before I got married, I remember him coming over to my room once in a while, sitting on my bed and just asking about how I am… When I was much younger, I also remember struggling with fractions in school, and him staying up into the wee hours just to make sure I learnt it well.

These days, I try to make time to meet my parents for lunch and go back for dinners, and though things will never be the same as when I was just a little girl, I know deep down that my parents are always going to be for me, supporting and helping me, praying for me..and for that, I give thanks.

We went out to Marina Bay Sands for lunch on Wednesday, Daddy’s actual birthday and it was such a blessed time, as always. I thank God for them. 🙂

Happy moments :)

The past few weeks have been pretty mellow, yet very fruitful at the same time. Made a major decision in terms of work, and took some time to pray over it. Oh,how I desire for more revelations from God, but I shall also remember to simply trust Him like an obedient child, no matter what happens.

Also intentionally wanted to do less, and be more..so looking back, I’m really, really glad I made time to rest at His feet, to reflect on His amazing sovereignty and goodness, and to take time to do my favorite things (one of which is baking!) and spend time with my favorite people (celebrating dearest Daddy’s birthday!).

Blessed is the man who Trusts in the Lord…

Woke up this morning, and had my usual routine: a glass of lemon drink, an apple, yakult, and breakfast for the day was cheese bread with generous spread of Nutella and chia seeds sprinkled over it. Yum.

After that, I’d my Quiet time, where this verse really spoke to me:

Jeremiah 17:7-8
‘But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes, its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.’

How sweet it was when I received this same verse from my Mum’s text just minutes after reading! It was such a reassuring moment from the Lord, and I know that He truly is watching over me.

Our weekend was really restful, and as Bren prepares to travel to Thailand this Friday, I can only pray that we’ll have more of such restful weekends to enjoy His wonderful presence together…

We watched our wedding videos to our hearts’ content! Okay, maybe more of me than Bren. But can you imagine that it was actually the first time we were watching it after being married for more than 2 years??

Then we took a brisk walk to our dinner destination, and ate at one of our favorite places, ‘Relish‘. They serve really good burgers there!

He’ll be away this weekend, but I’m looking forward to the moment where I can pick him up at the airport. It’s one of my favorite things to do, haha.

God is good!

Keep going!

Had a rough week at work as we’d several new students enrolled, and many new adjustments to be made. But thank God it’s the weekend! Am resting and recharging for the week ahead.. 🙂

Galatians 6:9
‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ‘

God must have known I needed a boost of encouragement, and so He sent 4 ex-students to visit us yesterday! The girls were so sweet too – they made chocolate biscuits for us as well as a belated Christmas card. Was great catching up with them, and I was especially happy to hear that one of them was the top student at her school! So proud of all of them.

Indeed, even at a snail’ s pace, I shall not give up. For in His perfect timing, fruits will be seen!

Fantastic New Year’s Day

Couldn’t have asked for more, really.

Started the day nice and bright, chilled out at home, reading His Word.

Bren wanted to get some computer gaming items in the afternoon, so we headed out for late lunch and a little shopping.

Since we’d a fair bit of spare time before dinner at his parents’, we took a slow walk around our neighborhood. It was something I really enjoyed!

Oh, and we got ourselves a cute little robot cleaner for the house! It’s so interesting, AND it works! It’s like our little pet now, we’re very easily amused.

Our pasta dinner was lovingly prepared by SIL, and I’d a great time laughing over lots of baby pictures after the filling meal.

We later left with not just full and happy bellies, we also went away with our Christmas gift – a nice multi-purpose mixer & processor!

Blessed New Year, Full of His Love!

How was your New Year’s Eve?

Few days ago, I strained my back muscles badly, and have been feeling quite out of sorts and physically more tired than usual. So didn’t get to countdown mostly because I was already exhausted by 9pm.

Whispered a weak “Happy New Year” to Bren, he prayed for us, and……woke up early this morning and had a pretty productive time clearing my emails and settling insurance matters, haha.

And my back feels normal again! No more pain! Thank God for His healing grace.

This new year, I’m praying for a deeper walk with Him, and for me to continue being faithful in everything that He has placed in my life.

 

Lamentations 3:22-23 

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
