God is good!

In the midst of all the busy-ness of whatever comes our way…it helps for me to remember and remind myself that God is good.

He is not just good, but PERFECT.

And He loves me!

My powerful sovereign God loves me… 🙂

Taking a break from work today. Going for a hair-trim, do some shopping, and catch up with Julia! It’s going to be a great day.

I’m a proud aunty!

There’s this thing about being promoted to being an Aunty…somehow, all the love and all the desire to bless, teach & protect suddenly come out, to such an extent I didn’t even know existed, and each time I see dear Kaelyn, I always remember how she was so little and precious, and now she is so much more grown up, talks to me on the phone and is even more precious in our eyes as time goes by.

Time with her is never dull, and when my sister / parents send me pics of her, it always always brightens my day.

Was deleting pictures in my phone when I saw these:

This was today before Sunday School:

With the dress Bren got for her. 🙂

Such a sweet blessing to have her in our lives!

Sydney! :)

We’ve been back from our trip for about a week now, but have not had the time to update about it as yours truly fell v sick nearing the end of the trip. Definitely a bummer when it happened, considering I’ve been well throughout this year! But still thankful that we’d covered the important must-see sites before that, and that it was at the last part of the trip.

The place has touched me with how relaxing, and beautiful it is… It seemed as though God was showing me real life parts of Sydney, and it made the trip extra – special. Moments of longtime acquaintances from the ’70s greeting each other on the train and catching up heartily…a passerby picking up a huge cardboard that flew down from somewhere high right onto the road, and him being helpful yet so nonchalant about it…seeing the police do a search warrant during a Food Fair…chatting with locals about our travels, Spore culture & Paris (!)…every bit of it was lovely and an eye-opener too. Plus, my cousin who’s studying there gave us recommendations on where to eat, so that was an advantage. We even bumped into each other at a road junction one night and got to catch up with him & my aunty who was also visiting!

Would love to visit Sydney again! Though this time, I’d better not be sick. 😉

Anyway, pictures of our trip!

These were taken when family sent us off:

Thankfully, I’d taken a couple of videos that captured Sydney’s lovely day & night scene, so now that I’m feeling physically better, I’m able to enjoy it again through the videos. 🙂

Have a great weekend!

To love more fully…

Had a fantastic time with Julia yesterday after work, and many of the issues we talked about resonated so much with each other, it was as if God was using us to minister to what the other was going through at that time, in a way that was perfectly timely.

I was dwelling upon my life and how I’ve been living – just that morning, I prayed for God to reveal more of His will. And He did – through a very touching sharing of how her parents started out when they first entered the pastoral journey, about how her culture in her hometown is very different and has values that more of us can learn from, and about how both of us desire to live life to a fuller extent – a life that’s less self – conscious, more outward – conscious…more intentionally loving.

This dear sister in Christ is a precious gift, and every time we meet, it never fails to refresh me. And His presence, a gift like nothing else…so sweet, so ministering, so amazing.

Have been very blessed. Really blessed. Especially when you’ve a husband that surprises you with a gift card for shopping (!), it makes you forget the tiredness of the day, and reminds you once again how much we need to count our blessings. Taking time to slowly shop at Tangs – they’ve so many great items there! 🙂

One of the things I’ve realized that helps me manage the busy-ness of life is the use of simple yet useful routines. I’ve a night routine to helps me unwind, and a few things that I do often so it takes my mind off questions like ‘what to cook for breakfast?’ and gives me more space to settle things that come up, because there’ll always be food in the house! One of it is our fav breakfast item so far – Maple Syrup cupcakes, nice & warm right out of the oven! Guest-posting it on RantingChef : do check it out! It’s really simple.

Another is the preparation of tea whenever we’re home in the afternoons. Healthy, and a nice relaxing ritual.

What’s yours? 🙂

Okie, got to start packing now for our trip, before we leave for Sydney tonight!

Made to be Loved

Celebrated Children’s Day at church this morning, and the message through the drama was so touching, if I wasn’t trying so hard to keep up with taking care of Kaelyn, I think a tear or two could have been shed.

We are all made by Him to be loved.

Made to be Loved.

What a revelation it has been for me. We are special simply because we were Created by Him, and no child is an accident – He has His purpose for every creation.

Looking at Kaelyn, I can’t help but marvel at how she’s growing and how she has been such a blessing, not just to my family but everyone who meets her. Her gentle touch, her sweet heart – melting smile & laughter…is a constant source of multiplied joy, simply because He loves her, He loves us

He loves His creation, especially His dear children.

Such joy to dwell in His love! No performance treadmill, no unhealthy attachment to opinions of others…for what matters most is simply seeking His will, His approval, His presence. Simple as that. 🙂

Realise how food seems to be the main theme?? Haha, we love to enjoy each other’s company through good food. Simple yet treasured times.

Another wonderful blessing is that Bren got us a part-time cleaner! Such a gift, especially since this lady is so hardworking, refusing to stop though I kept assuring her it’s okay to do the rest next week. We thank God for her!

Looking foward to having a good break together next week as we travel to Sydney! 🙂
