Taking a little time to count my blessings. 🙂
Weekend is nearing!
Bren is out for a walk.
I am simply resting and basking in the bliss felt from a wonderful Sunday.
The coming week should be quite a manageable one. One that’s full of His grace,…phew. 🙂
Going to do some laundry, chill out at the couch when Bren is back, and call it a night soon.
The past week has felt like an emotional roller coaster, very much so because of work changes and things beyond my control. I thank God for an email reminder that even in turbulent times, my Daddy-God is the pilot, and I can choose to rest easy.
& so this weekend, it shall be this way.
Resting. Easy. Resting in His arms, for He is showing me the way. 🙂
What better way than to kick start the weekend with celebrating Mummy’s birthday? Was such a lovely afternoon lunch, just chilling out at home.
We usually keep things very simple for Valentine’s Day. Possibly dinner after work, or I’ll whip up something comforting or one of our favorites at home.
But this year, we decided we needed to intentionally unwind from a very stressful & emotional month in January. So we booked a staycation, and I was really looking forward to it. 🙂
Mostly because we’ve never done anything like it before, and also because I was craving a break so bad. A rest. A good one.
Well Bren took a while to get off “work mode”…having calls coming in on Valentine’s Day can be quite a hassle, especially if you’re on leave and trying to have a break?? Anyway, we still had a pretty good time…exploring spots in Orchard we would normally not go to, and he brought me to Botanical Gardens which was a surprise – it’s one of my favorites to just hang around at. Love it!
Was a long weekend break, and though we’re now back home…it’s still nice to be able to spend time together, doing our normal things like cooking (me) and sorting out his late uncle’s pending matters (Bren).
Always nice to do something out of the ordinary once in a while in a marriage. 🙂
Taking time to slow down…and renew our energy after the taxing month. Bren told me he intentionally took in the sights & people around him at work today. An uncle selling tissue and his colleague who’d spilled coffee on her attire were incidents he shared. Love having our chats over dinners. 🙂
Thankful for a very lovely long weekend…
Knowing that NOTHING – absolutely NOTHING, surprises God. It’s ALL within His sovereignty.
HE is my unshakable Rock.
Everything that happens, that surprises me…I remind myself that God already knows, and He has a divine plan for it. I just ask, “So what now, Father? Just tell me.”
